Starting September 2011 PROCentrum will begin a new and very innovative form of simulation training, based on the results of the case study 'risk perception' which earlier this year was commissioned by the city police of Geel (Belium).
Students learn more about  risk perception and awareness by using a confronting training method. Stress factors are objectively defined and the student is faced with real live situations where several digital systems are used to log specific data - Speed, lateralforces, acceleration, braking, GPS position and even heart-rate. The student is closely monitored throughout by four different cameras! risk awareness, multi tasking and the ability to anticipate hazards in a split-second determines the outcome of each traffic situation which –afterwards is analyzed by an advanced software system and discussed with the student.
Unlike most virtual reality simulators the student finds himself in a realistic training environment where his actions are recorded by various digital systems.
