At request of the university hospital center Oslo PROCentrum recently trained two staff members to become motorcycle paramedics. Both students followed the course the majority of Dutch motorcycle paramedics also follow and which has developed over the years into a leading customized training within the ambulance service.

During the two-week training, students are confronted with all aspects of riding and using a motorcycle. Trial, motor skills, risk perception, skid course, driving at night and perform under
(high) pressure are just some elements of this very intensive program. The students develop under the guidance of PROCentrum instructors the qualities of a professional motorcycle paramedic
By the time this article was placed, both students have proved that they meet up to the high end PROCentrum standards and were certified as motorcycle parparamedics.
