On 1 March 2009, the new Optical and Alarm Signals Regulations [regeling Optische en Geluidssignalen] has come into force.
Since these regulations lay down specific requirements for the instruction of appointed drivers (article 3), in recent months PROCentrum has assessed all the applicable driving courses.
In concrete terms, it concerned the following courses:
- PROFCheck car & motorbike
- Basis Rij Opleiding (Vracht) Auto (BROA) basic lorry driving course
- Basis Rijopleiding Parketpolitie (BRP) basic driving course for Court Police
- Aanvullende Rijopleiding Auto (ARA) additional car driving course
- Specialistische Rij Opleiding Auto (SRO-auto) specialist car driving course
- Opleiding Motor Ambulance Verpleegkundige (OMAV) motorbike ambulance driver course
Primaire Rijopleiding Motor (PRM) primary driving course - Opleiding Basis Motor Surveillant (OBMS) basic motorbike surveillant course
- Voortgezette Surveillanceopleiding Motor (VSM) advanced motorbike surveillance training course
- Specialistische Rij Opleiding Motor (SRO-motor) specialist motorbike driving course
- Verkeers Technisch Begeleiden (VTB) traffic technical supervision.
Where necessary, the contents and/or theory of the above-mentioned training courses have been adapted to the regulations applicable after 1 March 2009 and are therefore completely up-to-date.
